Beyond Justice NHA Collaborative Initiative of Revive Recovery Resource Center & SOS Recovery Community Organization

Beyond Justice NH is a statewide, peer-led recovery navigation and community support initiative developed through a partnership between Revive Recovery Resource Center and SOS Recovery Community Organization (SOS RCO). The program is designed to strengthen recovery support for individuals impacted by the criminal justice system by providing consistent, relationship-based support before, during, and after involvement with correctional facilities, courts, and other justice systems.

Funded through the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, Beyond Justice NH connects justice-involved individuals with trained peer recovery professionals who understand the challenges associated with substance use, recovery, incarceration, reentry, and navigating complex service systems.

Our Approach
Beyond Justice NH is built around the principle that recovery support should not end at the doors of a correctional facility, courtroom, or treatment program. Peer recovery professionals work alongside participants to identify individual needs, develop recovery goals, address barriers, and establish connections to community-based resources.

Services may begin while an individual is incarcerated or otherwise involved with the justice system and continue throughout transition and reentry into the community, creating greater continuity of support during periods when individuals may be particularly vulnerable to disengagement from services.
Services

Beyond Justice NH provides individualized support that may include:

• Peer recovery coaching and recovery navigation

• Individual and group peer recovery support

• Pre-release and reentry planning

• Connections to substance use disorder treatment and behavioral health services

• Recovery residence and housing navigation

• Transportation and assistance overcoming access barriers

• Connections to employment, education, benefits, and other community resources

• Overdose and infection prevention and education

• Support navigating court, correctional, treatment, and community systems

• Development of individualized recovery and wellness goals

• Ongoing community-based support following release or transition

• Warm handoffs to local recovery organizations and other community providers

Statewide Collaboration
Through the partnership between Revive and SOS RCO, Beyond Justice NH provides coordinated coverage across New Hampshire while leveraging the established relationships, community knowledge, and peer recovery infrastructure of both organizations.

The collaborative model allows individuals to receive support within correctional and justice settings while also creating a pathway to continued recovery support in their home communities.

Beyond Justice NH works collaboratively with the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, county correctional facilities, treatment and recovery courts, the New Hampshire Judicial Branch, community supervision, treatment providers, recovery community organizations, recovery residences, and other community partners.

A central goal of the program is to complement—not duplicate—existing services. Beyond Justice NH works with facilities and community partners to identify gaps, coordinate referrals, maintain consistent communication, and ensure participants are connected to the most appropriate existing resources whenever possible.

Beyond Justice NH seeks to reduce the gaps that too often occur between incarceration, treatment, court involvement, and successful community reintegration.

By providing consistent peer relationships and practical recovery navigation across these transitions, Beyond Justice NH helps individuals build recovery capital, strengthen community connections, overcome barriers, and establish a sustainable foundation for long-term recovery.
